GOG #213
GYN - Ovarian - Metastatic - Platinum Sensitive

A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial of Platinum-Combination, Sequence-Dependent Chemotherapy and Secondary Cytoreductive Surgery in Platinum-Sensitive, Recurrent Ovarian and Peritoneal Primary Cancer

This research study is for women who have ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal primary cancer that has come back after their original treatment.  The purpose of the study is to compare the combination of carboplatin, placitaxel and bevacizumab to the standard combination of carboplatin and paclitaxel alone.  A second purpose of this study is to determine if a second surgery to remove tumor followed by chemotherapy can increase the time that you remain disease free.
